Overview of Lasik?
Lasik is simply a surgical procedure that is used to improve ones eyesight. The Procedure tends to work fairly well at removing ones dependency on contact lenses and eye glasses. Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis ( LASIK) is a procedure developed to permanently change the shape of the Cornea. The cornea is the clear covering over your eye(s). Lasik Surgery uses several tools that make the operation simple. A Excimer laser and a Microkeratome is used to cut the cornea and the Lasik Surgeon will leave a flap with a hinge on it to reveal the Stroma which will have a laser used on it to vaporize parts of it, then the flap will be placed back in it's original position to heal naturally. The process is an Outpatient operation and the success rate is High. Lasik Eye Surgery is becoming more and more mainstream and has been largely dubbed as the replacement for Glasses and Contact Lenses.

Due to the Overwhelming response and desire to have this operation done is due to a variety of reasons. How many women actually are self conscious about the way they look. Not only that but recent surveys have been done regarding the fact that Men will not try to meet or start a conversation with a woman who wears glasses. I know that doesnt say much for the mentality of men, but hey it's a fact.
The majority of surgeries done are outpatient and considering the cost, is a lot more affordable then yearly eye exams where the vision experts claim you need knew glasses at 300-500.00 + a piece. If you add that up then you have 20 years worth of eye wear that will cost 5000.00.
