Presbyopia simply means "Old Eyes"

The lens of your eyes are made up of proteins. When one is young the proteins are real flexible and soft but once you hit your fourties presbyopia starts to set in. With age the composition of the lenses of ones eyes begin to change making the proteins become less flexible or harder. Due to the fact that as we do age and the protein becomes harder it results in the eye unable to bend and retract light as they did in previous years making it harder to focus on objects, read, drive or other things one does on a daily basis with their eyes.

Presbyopia cont..

Lasik surgery will not correct the ordinary Presbyopia. Due to the fact that LAsik has no effect whatsoever on the eyes due to the fact that LAsik doesnt effect the Lens of the Eyes or the Muscles the eyes use to focus on things. You can be presbyopic and still be able to read by removing your eyeglasses or contact lenses. After having Lasik surgery done you will become "normal sighted.
